Little courtesys can certainly brighten your day. I got a flat - and law of sod, the car was piled up with stuff. As I was digging through it, a motorway maintainence truck stopped, and the gentlemen got out, insisted on changing it for me, and guided me back into traffic using their flashing lights to help me pull out and into my lane.
I always give people a big smile and a thankyou if they let me out, hold a lift or whatever.
