How closely do you manage your money?
Do you know where every penny goes? Do you have to try and find different ways to pay all of your bills each month? Or do you not care? Do you get your paycheck automatically deposited and never give it a second thought? Do you trade stock frequently, or do you buy and pray? Do you day-trade stocks and transfer your 401k into bonds when the market is over appraised? Do you know how much money is in your accounts, or how much you owe?
Do you have a realistic plan of where you would like to get to? Or do you just want to get out of the system all together and let other people worry about it, you have more important things to do. Are you trying to get as much money as possible, or will you 'retire' and change jobs once you reach a set amount?
-----------------------
I am starting to get back into some stock trading, I got lucky in the past 3 years and bought good companies that have appreciated in value and paid dividends.
I have a mint.com account, and try to keep up with it. I have been slacking compared with the first two years I was working and tracked every penny.
