Weak erections (ED) are one of the first indicators of arterial damage (cholesterol) and coronary heart disease. All of the veins and arteries in the body are linked, so if you have problems anywhere you have the same problems everywhere. Animal protein (among other things) contributes to elevated bad cholesterol and plaque build up in the arteries. Treating ED as a disease on its own (by prescribing simple vasocdialators like Viagra) is ignoring the more serious problem that the person is at a high risk for CHD diseases like a heart attack or stroke. In my (non professional) opinion the most important treatment for ED is exercise and diet (high in vegetable protein) in order to reduce vasoconstriction in all parts of the body, including the penis. It's not "in our water", but in our food; particularly the amount of meat Americans consume. You'll see a correlation between meat-rich diets and CHD as well as ED. In cultures where meat is less prevalent, both diseases take a sharp decline.
