I've been wondering this too. Everything is so predictable in mmo's these days. If it wasn't for the same group of people I've been mmoing with for the past 10 years I wouldn't even play.
You know every 10 levels or whatever you're going to move onto a new area, that's exactly the same as the last area. You're going to grab dozens of quests you wont even read and grind out mobs rinse and repeat. Then at max level you're going to grind the same dungeons again except on expect to gain one more point to + int than your last piece of gear.
In EQ I could spend an entire day doing absolutely nothing but running around a new zone exploring or seeing some rare mob pop. Or sitting on the dock fishing, or training sand giants on people in oasis
Maybe I'm just too old for these games now haha.
