Having been 17 not too long ago, and having friends who are 17...wow. I'd have to agree with the take that she just wants to be able to say "I'm dating a 24-year-old." It totally depends on her maturity level and your maturity level. I would, however, check the laws before moving any further into this relationship. Statuatory rape can be taken very seriously by parents in particular. Remember, she's still in high school (presumably) and you're prolly out in the working world. Sometimes that can be quite a gulf. Again, it comes down to maturity on both your parts. Age difference becomes less and less of an issue as time goes on, but seven years between a 17 and 24 year old is a little different than a 25 and 32 year old.
