i was hit by a swinging excavator at work a few years ago. it was a swinging arm that hit me square in the shoulder. i flew a few metres in the air.
a few inches higher it would have hit me straight in the side of the head. i'd have definately been dead. i decided to get out of onsite construction work after that.
a week later i fell into a 3m deep pit and missed some rebars by a few inches.
as an infant i drowned in the river. my father saved me in the nick of time as i had gone down for the last time. i remember the very instant that he grabbed my forearm and pulled me out. i remember it like yesterday
