as a host of parties with hundreds of people, I've done some odd things. First I didn't drink at my own party, why? Because I didn't want to wake up with the house TOTALLY thrashed. I wanted to be able to monitor what's happening and throw people out accordingly.

Second, when its' 11pm, I'd call the cops on my own party. Why? Because I threw a party to party, not just worry about my shit getting thrashed, so I'd tell a small set of people to leave when the cops show up to get the crowd to leave also, and to return 20 minutes later.

Then we'd party with the noise levels at a reasonable level until 6am....

as soon as I woke up, I'd go out with a bunch of the people who spent the nigt and walked the neighborhood and picked up all the cigarette butts/packs, beer bottles, emtpy six pack holders, and in general clean up the neighborhood.
