Dude, I say all this from experience. The iPhone locked up numerous times, refused to run some apps that previously required a jailbreak in order to install, had crap battery life ... and all this AFTER I had it jailbroken. You know what, I figured it was a one time thing, so I restored it back to factory defaults then used my mom's insurance to get another one. Same thing.
