If there was another intelligent life capable of crossing the mindfuckingly huge distances involved in space travel we wouldn't ever have the slightest idea they were here. Traveling 100 light-years is a way harder trick then invisibility or a myriad of other technologies that would produce the same effect. IE observing us without accidentally showing their existence.
The whole UFO theory rests on the fact that they mistakenly show us their presence. Ridiculous.
