I've had mine since 10/00 and the spouse's since 1/03.
I've run 14 drags against other more modded PT's and won 12 times, including low ET for a weekend event.
The only major work in those 9.5 years has been control arms and timing belt replacements.
You are right about one thing-that's YOUR opinion. And it's one of no-nothing snobbery-a main reason I no longer frequent this place. You're the same people who think NACSCAR is only enjoyed by toothless stupid rednecks.
Oh, and for the record, one of the most admired original members that also has become infrequent of late is a close friend of mine and we met.......
