Good work. If you can stand it that's definitely the way to go. I like to drink beers in the cinema but I really hate to miss bits for toilet breaks. Next time I go to a movie I'm taking rum.
Re the credits: they seem to last between five and ten minutes for a modern film. Unless it's something like this
or this
If I'm sober I don't want to carry on watching. It's just the names of the people that made the film - if you don't know any of them what's the point in staying to read all their names?
....is one point of view. The other argument says that the end credits are still part of the film and if you leave before they finish you've left prematurely even if there was no more narrative. Perhaps the purpose is to absorb the film's ending, relax, contemplate and reflect upon it before exiting into the real world.
If I've had quite a few beers during the showing (or, in future, a bottle of rum) I love to kick back and take in the credits - however long they last - while most of the audience fumbles about finding their things and getting out of the place. It's so relaxing to sit back and watch others stop relaxing and start doing stuff.
