We skipped the parent-child dances, since my wife's parents are divorced.
We had BOTH of our parents escort BOTH of us down the aisle. I think that's common in Jewish weddings, although we aren't Jewish. First my family, and my parents lit candles. Then her family, and her candles. Midway through the ceremony, we merged the candles. However, we didn't blow out the old candles, we kept those going.
Kept the bouquet throw, skipped the garter. Bouquets are fun, garter removal and putting on gets sleazy.
