i went to the Tamworth Country Music Festival a few years ago.
And considering that i dont even listen to country music, it was quite a change for me. She-lish had commitments on the weekend, so i decided to get up early and catch the early train to the country. Arrived about 7 hours later to another world very unlike suburbia and something i wasnt used to.
i walked around and enjoyed the street music, the buskers, the performer. It was the final night of the 2007 festival, and everyone was upbeat. Since i left on a last minute day trip, i hadnt exactly planned on staying there, so since i got there so late, i decided to stay the night....just a piece of advice..make sure you book your accomodation early. i was destined to sleep on a park bench until i found a backpackers hostel with a bed under the stars..it did me for 20 aussie dollars! most people take a caravan and stay from start to finish.
that night was a mix of dancing, singing and plenty of concerts in the streets. definately worth going for the cultural aspect.
i'd go again for sure, but ill book early!
