Hit and Run
Around 7 this morning, I was driving to school on 2920, a 4 lane highway with a turn lane in the middle. There's a fire station on the road and traffic from the red light backs all the cars way up, so they put a special line for people to stop at just in case a fire truck needs to get out. So I stop at the line and here comes a Ford F250, a dually, out of the fire station. He shoots out in front of my lane, the lane next to me and the middle turn lane, then proceeds to hit a small SUV going the other way. He hit him right on the driver door and the SUV did a 360. When the dually was crossing I could see the driver had his fire uniform on, because I could see his shoulder patch. After he hit the SUV, he slowed down for a couple seconds, then sped off. Oh yes, the fireman left the scene of an accident. I couldn't believe he did that, I would think he would stop and help. Specially because, you know, he's a fucking fireman. While I was still waiting for the light to turn green, the SUV driver got out and a fireman walked out of the station to help too. The driver was alright, but no way that his vehicle was going anywhere.
So when I got to school about 5 minutes later I called up that station, but didn't get an answer. After school, a good 7 hours later I called again and told them what I saw. They told me it was a firefighter from a different station who was leaving to go home and that he stopped a little ways down from where the accident was because "he didn't think it was safe to stop in the middle of the road." Riiiiiiiiiiight. They told me the fireman and the other driver exchanged info, but no one was found to be at fault. I clearly saw someone was at fault, the fireman. Total bullshit, but hey, what can I do.
Thanks for reading my rant. My question is, has anyone ever been involved in a hit and run? Did you ever catch the runner?
