Dead round, dead platform. Stock work won't be too bad, but don't hold your breath looking for spare parts.
Unfortunately 5mm Rem. never took off in the market, especially once the .17 Remington and .221 Fireball came about. The .17HMR was the final nail in the coffin, and .204 Ruger threw the dirt on. A few companies still produce a -very- limited amount of the ammunition, but I'm not aware of any new rifles being chambered in 5mm Rem. in perhaps 15-20 years, if not longer. A supplier calls me with dirt-cheap ammo on offer every few months; last I heard, the ammo they were trying to sell me was 8-yr-old backstock that nobody else wants either.
Given the realities of the ammo situation, I doubt very seriously that any new rifles or loadings will be introduced. There are simply too many other cartridges, both centrefire and rimfire, that fill the same niche caliber/performance-wise and have much more/better reloading data, brass and projectiles available.
