Ask them what they like to hear/want you to say to them at some non-sex time, then you can extrapolate from that so you are meeting their needs without just copy and pasting their words back to them.
Some people like graphic talk, some like narration of what you are doing/going to do, some want to be demeaned, some want to be romanced. Sometimes the same person likes several ways and likes them mixed up. Ask.
