dlish: Thanks for the suggestions. I'm not sure if we'll be able to manage it if a hotel is needed, but we have a number of other options. On top of asking here, ono and I are meeting an old HS friend this weekend who, coincidentally, also lives in NYC now. After catching up, I figure I'll mention it to her as well and see how she feels about it. I'd prefer to stay with someone we know at least a little bit, but couch surfing is also something I considered as a possibility.
