im stuck on this too. been thinking about it, and one solution is to use ietab (lets you run IE in Firefox tab) and configure it to switch to IE when you go to the hotmail site. as the password gets stored in IE rather than firefox (i think) the problem should go away (i guess)

thing is, i cant get it to work! IE tab switches to IE, but no password. dont really see why...

edit: scratch that - it works! just never click logout of hotmail and it gets you straight in. ie tab is really useful if you configure it to automatically switch when you go to windows update, skydrive, or any other site that'll just be 'better' in IE
