Your restore disc might have several options for restore/recovery action.
Chances are that it will give you a partial and full restore option. Partial restores dont format the drive and simply copy some system files and settings like VeXteR said above.
A full restore should typically involve a format and reinstall. This should set your stuff so it was like it was when you first bought the computer. This is what youre looking for. Just pop the disc in and see what options it gives you. If the company is good about their discs, it should explain what its going to do.
And no, you shouldnt need a key if youre using this method. If youre prompted for one (which would be unusual), then call MDG and ask for one. You might want to have your invoice ready.
