I'd be up for some safety training. and some assistance in gun maintenance if I did find something old to buy. I'm also familiar with maintaining old machinery, but I'd need some information with guns though. heh, I did notice-looking through gun auction sites these old pistols arn't cheap ! but I like the weird style of them both.
honestly I can't see needing a gun for protection so I doubt I'd carry one but I would be into shooting an antique at a range.
I did have some basic rifle safety training when I was a kid but that was quite a while back. oh and I'm in the U.S. btw.
