The_Dude, I followed your instructions, but when I got into "startup" there wasn't
anything to do with Symantec or Norton that I could tell. There were in the "services" tab, and a few of the Symantec's were not running, but I'm not sure if that was the same as disabled, and I didn't want to do anything to fuck it up so I left it alone.
I'm running XP and AOL if this helps with your or anybody elses troubleshooting.
