Start applying to every job you see in the payscale you desire, no matter the field. When someone shows interest in your skills and wants to hire you for good money, don't turn them down - rather, take the job, keep it for a year, make friends, get good letters of reccomendation, and in the meantime work your way into the field you're really interested in through volunteering.
