Of course "it" matters, because that's why we have our philosophical paradigms to start with. "It" wouldn't matter outside of the context of philosophy, would it? Universally speaking, it wouldn't matter, but specifically to people who care enough to think about it, then yes it matters. But it is relative to whatever it is and to the people who care about it.
