I like to write at the local bar, on a quiet night with no crowd and no juke box. Sip on diet soda, occasionally look up at the big screen tv, and write. I use pen and paper there. Later at home, I edit and rewrite as I type it into the computer. I have a comfy chair with arm rests. It works best when the kids have gone to bed, or on my day off when the kids are in school. It's very hard to write with a loud movie on the tv, kids arguing, or people talking to me.
