Yeah, try to do it drug-free.
Get a sleep mask, and set up a regular schedule. The body will chemically respond to darkness and a regular habit of shutting down.
Try light carbs before bed, and avoid stimulation from TV or the Internet....lights in general.
Relaxation techniques should help too. Deep breathing, etc.
I would use sleep aids only as a last resort.
