Canceled
• Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles is gone, which really sucks. The show had some very original and interesting writing, but moreover it had some surprisingly good acting for an action drama. It's a shame Fox wasn't willing to give the show a decent time slot. And it's a shame that they went off on that odd three-dots thing, I think that turned off a lot of fans.
• Life is canceled, which really surprised me. I didn't really follow the show's ratings, I guess I just assumed I wasn't the only person watching. The premise was interesting, but it was the classic paring of the main characters of crazy Cruise and stoic Reese that worked really well.
• Kings. Damn it, NBC.
• Pushing Daisies was the quintessential quaint, G-rated show. I think its cancellation really signifies an end to that kind of show, which is a shame.
Renewed, but in dire straights
• Dollhouse is hanging on by the skin of its teeth. It's time for Joss to be his Jossiest.
Renewed, and safe
• Heroes has been renewed, though its ratings are still slipping. As is the writing. I'll watch, but something tells me this is going to keep getting worse.
• Fringe didn't really hook me until towards the end of the season, but I'm glad it's coming back. The parallel worlds thing managed to reveal itself very well.
• Lost, of course, will return with its final season in 2010, which would be outstanding and incredibly confusing.
• Sons of Anarchy was renewed, and it sounds like this season is going to have even more depth and character than the last. My hope is that this can really act as a replacement for The Shield in FX's lineup, even though it's a good show in its own right.
• Caprica, which I see as a renewal of Battlestar in a way, will be starting up early next year, probably a bit after Lost comes back. I expect, based on the DVD pilot, that this will be just as successful and wonderful as BSG.
• True Blood... I didn't get into this series like other people did, but it wasn't bad. I'm hoping this next season will be a bit more interesting.
