Gonna hafta somewhat disagree. When I'm about to merge onto a highway, I have a yield sign. Few things irritate me more than someone, already in the travel lanes, slows down to let me out in front of them. Why? because I'm already attempting to do what the law requires me to, yield the right of way. Now, because you had to be all 'nicey' I have to play the "no you first" game. And finally, either floor it to merge with traffic at speed or be the idiot trying to merge at 35 because you couldn't just go on your merry way and take the right of way the law has granted you.
