That's a weird situation.
One the one hand, he doesn't appear to have been on any draft experts' boards. On the other hand, it's been reported that at least two other teams had him rated much higher then most thought (Mitchell himself said he was told by the Bears he was going to be drafted by them two picks later, and Kiper mentioned another team that had him as a third-round pick and called him a future Pro-Bowler).
This is the kind of thing that isn't supposed to happen these days, but still makes the draft great.
You have to have these things every couple years, whether it is the incomprehensible pick or the team running out of time or something else.
