Ive never broken my nose before - so I dont know if it should have healed by now or not, which is why I was asking the question.

While a broken nose isn't as serious as maybe, a broken leg, it certainly isn't without risk. As other already mentioned, complications COULD arise.
That being said, it's a doctor's JOB to deal with things like this. It isn't wasting time for them it is what they dedicated their lives to do.
