I'm fed up with the surmounting over-use and abuse of Shockwave Flash! (And maybe same of QuickTime, too.) This, by just about every web site, these days. I like to browse using multiple opened tabs; and with so many web pages nowadays using Flash for advertisements and/or unrequested mini-videos – oftentimes, with multiple and/or rotating uses on a single page! – it brings my browsing, i.e. my page-scrolling and tab-switching, down to a stuttering, sputtering crawl.
Well, I just disabled the Flash plug-in, in my browser, and I'm happy to see my Internet browsing return to the speedy and easy experience that it once was. (Hmm. Do I need to do this with QuickTime, too?)
But, really! I shouldn't have to resort to this.
Anyone else here finding the over-use and abuse of Shockwave Flash (and/or QuickTime), bothersome?
EDIT: BTW, I've experienced this in both IE and Firefox. And I have a fairly fast machine and connection to the Internet. Oh, and for years I've routinely used Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D to remove spyware and malware from my system.
