Monogamy seemed excellent to me until 2.5 yrs after I got married.
I discovered no matter how much you want to be faithful, it's not gonna dictate what the other person does. Behind your back. When you're out, working, trying to bring money home.
Each type of relationship has it's breaking points, weak spots, and it's your job AND you SO's job to constantly pay attention to these, and strengthen them. And if one day, your SO doesn't wanna spend time and effort doing this, and working hard on your relationship, there's not much you can do.
There's no guarantees in life, only educated guesses.
