Yes, I think many of the generational changes are bringing about means for people to be more superficial. A lot of people are within the MTV generation, which, pretty much promotes vainglorious behavior. Top it off with a little myspace, a little facebook, a little attention from the opposite sex and voila. Perfect storm of vanity
