well id rather have him possibly fail than have another republican who will continue the policies that have got us to the shitty place were in. and no, i dont hate john mccain, i just think he believes the way to fix america is very closely in line with the way our recent government thought. and that he wouldnt last 4 years and then that crazy redneck palin would have become president.

I also liked Dennis Kucinich. Very to the point, VERY LIBERAL, also had a sense of humor. However, he didn't make it far in the primaries and I could see Obama would go places.

What I meant was, I don't see how gay marriage has any real effect on you, a straight girl, or why you should be happy about a select group of people having their constitutional rights taken away from them. While I see it from a strictly impartial, political viewpoint, it even says in the Bible people should have free choice, so either way I don't see how the passing of Prop 8 is a positive in any way. You're free to have your own opinion, but I just can't identify with it in the slightest.

I am free to have the my own opinion and that is I am HAPPY gay marriage got banned in Cali. BTW: the Bible does say free choice but it is BY NO MEANS in relation to being gay or not! THat is taking the Bible out of context!

The whole point of having gay marriage is to give gay people the same rights as everyone else, because they are equal to everyone else. The biggest reason they want gay marriage is so they can have the benefits brought on by marriage. Allowing them to take on a civil union and have all of those rights, but not call it marriage so as not to trespass on religious viewpoints, seems like it would be acceptable. The question was what is your opinion on them having "civil unions" that are only contracts with the state rather than religious marriages?
