How do we even know the guy is actually dead? He could have faked his own death. He disppeared in September last year, and a judge declared him legally dead after only three months! I thought one had to be missing for seven years before you can be declared legally dead? Seems a little too soon to assume he died.

That begs the question, though. Lets say he did fake his own death. If a judge has declared him legally dead, does that mean that if Fossett shows himself again, he will not exist?
