Just for a totally different solution to your problem. You could get the stuff to copy and remove all the copy protection and region codes. SlySoft Products | Copy Movie DVDs with AnyDVD and CloneDVD Thats the stuff i use. I dont have a problem with region codes but its worked perfectly to copy every dvd i have tried and then will play in any dvd player. At least that way you wouldnt be limited to what dvd player you get. Never hurts to have a extra copy of a movie handy. Let the DVD set stay in its case and watch the copy. let the copy get scratched up or whatever. Just need clone dvd and anydvd or anydvd hd if you want to copy the hd dvds and blue ray stuff at some point down the line.

At the very least if you have a computer with a dvd burner that is you can download the free trial of the software and make copies of what you have now to try it. works for three weeks before you have to pay. Plenty of time to make a copy of what you have now and test it out to see if it would solve your problem. AT about 25 cents for a blank dvd its a cheap way to solve a annoying problem. Cant let annoying stuff keeping you from watching that creepy tall man with his killer midgets.
