I think it sucks. I am a Pats fan. Brady is a fine player and as far as I can tell, a good man. He's very hardworking and a great example to others.
The reason why the media is making a big deal out of it is because it is a big deal. Without Brady, the Pats will struggle. In fact, it changes the whole dynamic of the division if not the league. Secondly, you are correct, fantasy football is big bucks and Brady's injury has significant impact. I'm sure there are a ton of players scrambling to fill the QB slot. So it is reasonable to expect the media to pay lots of attention to this.
