Clearly you heard a different speech from Obama than I did. I thought he said exactly the sorts of things I would like to hear from a politician. The sorts of things that I am hearing from the RNC are having just the opposite effect.

Yes, I do not support the unvetted Democratic nominee

, hence the avatar. I've been consistent in this view in multiple threads. I've also been very consistent in my dislike of McCain. However, FOR THIS DISCUSSION, if being combative is to respectfully ask someone to explain their position, then I would say some are over-reacting.

Here Charlatan, is that better? Although others use controversial political avatars, I will revert back to my old none-threatening 3-D guy.
BTW - this was the "offending avatar"
And here was a previous avatar of mine.
Scary - threatening stuff!

Yes, heroism and tenacity are admirable traits. Yes, last night was low in specifics regarding their platform. But which points (against Obama) were inaccurate? Yes, they were presented with the expected unrelenting sarcasm, but Obama's record is proving to be perhaps less impressive than the Republican VP candidate. This should be an upsetting revelation to the DNC (IMO).

I so look forward to the debates, when we'll see who's truly got substance.

Great points, I agree.
