On the initial office visit, you described the symptoms. Did he/she say they were going to rule out UTI first? Was there any discussion of what else might cause those symptoms?
You're entitled to some sort of diagnosis, I would think, even if he's more comfortable sending you to another specialist.
I used to let things go, rationalizing that I felt a little better and it was too much hassle. But I found out the hard way that it's not very heroic. You know your body best. Pain and discomfort are the way it communicates to you.
Call the doc, please. Ask him what's next so that you can get this diagnosed and taken care of.
