I think, as a girl, I was conditioned to be "in love" with the concept of weddings. In my first marriage I had the big church wedding, just what I thought I wanted. I can now say it really had little meaning, was just an event. It was all about the wedding, not the marriage.
Now, I value the concept of a wedding very little.
I am now in the most significant, loving, meaningful, fulfilling relationship of my life. While I would still like to get married, it's not about a large wedding with lots of attendees or anything traditional like that. It's about the deep commitment, plain and simple.
