You should definitely get the highest quality disc that will work in your burner. Although there are claims that these discs will last 100 years some of mine have degraded after 5, they were cheaper discs so the higher quality discs may last 20. It may not be enough to just verify the data on your disc, you may want to look into an app, or similar, in Nero called CD/DVD Speed. Under that app is another called Disc Quality, you insert the disc you've just burned and it will give you a qualty score from 0 to 100 and show all PIE and PIF errors on your disc. This is basically the way testing is done on media from the site I mentioned above, so they've done alot of this for you. If you get a crappy burn (you can verify the disc & it will play but still get a low quality burn) you can try altering the speed of the burn. I recently got some 8x-R discs that burned much better at 4x speed, 8x worked & would play but 4x had a much higher quality rating with less errors. Just an example.......Good Luck.
There is a firmware update available for this burner, just make double sure that its the correct one for your burner!

Before proceeding with your driver installation we suggest you make sure you are installing the latest version available and for the appropriate model/revision and Operating System. We strongly suggest following 'readme' instructions for installing drivers when available. Often restarting your system will be necessary for the new driver to become active and start functioning properly.
