That said, though, the producers have promised us mundane, scientific explanations for ALL the weird shit. Nothing is going to be hand-waved away as "magic".
And--some more casual complainers complaints notwithstanding--you can see clear evidence of a thoroughly planned plot arc. There are things that got set up in Season 1 that are only beginning to get resolved in Season 4. That doesn't happen when you're making it up as you go along.
