I haven't upgraded yet. There was an update I installed recently, but my System still says Service Pack 2. I wanted to because of what I've heard, but now I'm hesitant if there are problems.
PC Pitstop survey finds:
- The most frequently cited problems were Internet Explorer lock-ups, reboots, system crashes, and failure of XP to start.
- Only 5.5% of users having problems had called Microsoft to troubleshoot the problems.
- 37% of those surveyed decided to upgrade to XP SP3, despite the known issues.
Apparently 24.6% of those surveyed experienced noticeable problems, and 75% of those weren't able to resolve it.
EDIT: Woah, I just read that
Symantec has warned users to disable their protection before installing SP3 or risk crippling their computer.
At a go, Microsoft. Yet another reason* why I'm glad I switched to Mac for my primary computing.
*If Vista woes weren't enough....
