Maui is clearly my favorite place on the planet, both on dry land, and under the water. You can see whales while eating breakfast. SCUBA in the morning. Snorkel with turtles in the twilight. Get out of the water for a perfect sunset. Then clean up and go to a great place for dinner. The next day drive past dozens of waterfalls on the the road to Hana. Have a picnic and visit an isolated black sand beach and swim in the pools among a number of other waterfalls. It is the most relaxing place I have ever been. What else could you ask for?
Other fantastic places:
The Hagia Sophia in Istanbul
St Peters in Rome
The Tower of London
The Hermitage in St Petersburg
The Archipeligo in Stockholm
The Great Wall and Forbidden City
The Three Gorges on the Yangtze
The Casino in Monte Carlo
The Acropolis
Domestic:
Wrigley Field and the rest of Chicago
Walking to the top of Telegraph Hill in San Fran
Going to the top of the World Trade Center
(I am really glad I did that when I was in NY)
Driving Highway One along the California coast
Where do I want to go?
I have got to see the Galapagos. But I want to wait until I have more SCUBA experience (and more cash).
Someday I want to see Australia and New Zealand and Patagonia.
