You're absolutely correct. Of course, I'm arguing that skill will beat button mashing in any game 9 times out of 10. Here are some skilled people in different games that will help me prove my point.

I'm only really knowledgeable in the Smash and Tekken series, but it seems like none of these people can be beaten by button mashers. I don't feel like looking through anymore youtube crap for other games.
Also, I don't look like some of those guys shown in some of the videos (for those of you who might think I'm a huge nerd, which I kind of am).
