Looks like the same part, I buy parts from Impact for about 5 years now and find them helpful because they include instructions on removal and replacing parts for almost every part I've purchased. I'm not sure how others do it.
battery life depends on what you're doing obviously. Should be about 4 hours for most simplest things, obviously using your CD/DVD drive to play a movie you'll get 1 whole (2hr.) movie out of it and a little more.
