I think they missed the boat on the cat/ballon/carpet matrix. The real solution to the energy problem can be found in the feline matrix dynamo. The simplest for, the bi-feline dynamo, is made by securing two cats back to back with a drive shaft between hooked to a standard coil generator. Since cats aways land on their feet, if placed in a micro gravity environment to simulate continued falling, the cats will spin in an effort to remain upright on landing. Since only one cat will remain upright at any given time, this will go on to the limit of the cats' endurance (at which point another pair is introduced via a differential clutch assembly). so long as there is an even number of cats, the only practical limit to the number of cats that can be used in a feline matrix dynamo is litterbox space.
