I know you feel that it's easier said than done (I've been with a man who's very much like you this way), but since you get this about yourself, you have to find your own way to let it go. Personally, I think therapy's the way to go, if possible, because often times self-talk doesn't give you the feedback you may need to push yourself beyond this.

Other than that, communicate with her about how you feel, no holds barred.
