With creatine, you're gaining mostly water mass. Basically what happens when somebody loads with creatine, the body retains more water to deal with the excess creatine. As long as you stay on creatine, you'll keep your mass and strength, but, if you cycle off, you'll lose quite a bit of it.
My advice would be to take the weight gainer. Just be wary of the calories in it, those extra pounds you put on might be fat.
