Every year for the last few, I take my mom to the Philadelphia Flower Show, we both love flowers. She still gets around fine at age 85, I hope I can get around about that well when I'm 85 or 100. Anyway, here's some pics I took, some not so good but I'm posting them anyway, the worst have been edited out. The cute elderly person with the whitish hair and redish coat is my mom, not me.
Actually, I took this pic after I dropped her off and was driving home, but since the flower show is at the PA Convention Center I figure it fits here:
This title page applies to the next photo. That little bonzai is older than my mom!!!
In spite of having grown up around lots of Polacks and eaten a lot of good Polish foods, I thought perogies were made by people but apparently they grow on a bush:
This reminds me that the theme seemed to be music, jazz, and especially New Orleans influenced music and scenes
The next two shots are the inside of what used to be the Reading Terminal, the Reading Railroad terminal where as a kid, I used to hop on trains, now it's part of the convention center
They kept the steel tracks/rails in the floor as part of the historic preservation, you can kind of see them here
A gratuitous shot of the Philadelphia skylne from Belmont Hills Plateau, I stopped to look on my way home
