) Blu Ray while technically better had no real advantage as far as most consumers are concerned. HD-DVD had the better naming scheme, was cheaper, and the standard was more mature. Unless you're a huge movie buff you're not going to see, let alone care that there was compromised encoding or high end audio. I'm glad it's over, but I'm sad Blu Ray won.
